This is the first in a series of post I plan to do on my playing around with VS 2010.
It was quite a bit of trouble getting the thing setup. The download is a 11 part RAR file and I had to go through a couple of cycles, as a number of times some parts ended up being corrupted. The download is around 7.11 GB. The extracted files are 23 GB (1 VHD and 1 VMC). So plan for space accordingly
I also found that the extractor sometimes give CRC errors even if the files are OK. I just stopped and re-ran the installer after it gave an error in a particular file and it just went thru fine.
Anyway, the good thing is that this is a VHD. So you don't have to screw up you machine to test this out. It is installed on a non-activated Win 2008 machine and has VS 2010, VS 2008 and TFS. By default the VPC is allocated 1 GB, I would recommend that you increase this based on how much you have available on your base machine.
