There has been a lot of things happening in the user group and my being away for a fortnight or so for my marriage means I have to catch up with too many things now...:-)
We have had new initiatives that people have started out. We now are in the process of creating two new chapters in CNUG, one for the Infrastructure & support people and one for the architects and managers. These will take the total numner of CNUG groups to 4, with the base .NET group and the students group already there.
I am not sure if there are other groups which have started off so many chapters and I am also not sure if this is the best way to do this, but then I have volunteers who are ready to run the chapter and there have been member request for this. So I think it is correct to give it a try.
To tell the truth the last chapter was really born out of a series of posts in the CNUG forums. So this new chapter currently codenamed DAM(doesnt sound good, but stands for Design, Architecture and Management), will try to serve the architects and managers. Not the best combination, but then we cannot afford to have too many groups and there is not enough mass yet to create a seperate group for architects and managers.
And the base group is still growing fast, we have now hit the 1370 mark and I hope we will get to the 1500 mark soon...:-)
